Grief

Life is a procession of love and loss, joy and pain. Those who love greatly in life are also those grieve deeply in loss. Walls erected to keep the pain out also keep the love out. To live life fully, we must live with loss.

To heal a loss, we must grieve. We cannot avoid it; we can only delay it. When we deny feelings of grief, we manage only to lengthen the process and to delay our healing. The feelings of loss will surface at some later time but in more complex and confusing ways.
